One great difference between a wise man and a fool is: the former only wishes for what he may possibly obtain; the latter desires impossibilities.

Again the British Gazette has chosen a quote from antiquity as its title. This time as the Reader will have noted, is one from the Greek pre-Socratic philosopher Democritus.
In his Editorial commentary upon UKIP’s by election successes the Daily Mail’s Editor advised the Tories to address the issue of immigration in order to stave of a disastrous result in the may 2015 General Election.
Herewith a link to the Editorial: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-2788884/daily-mail-comment-cameron-address-immigration.html
At this point your Editor apologises (yet again) to restate – for the umpteenth time !!!!! – that:
If you have over control of your country to a foreign power, what do you expect?
What the Daily Mail’s Editor suggests is impossible. The UK gave up control of its borders when the Single European Act reached the statute book. Open unrestricted migration to and from ALL EU member states is a treaty obligation imposed not only on ALL EU members but ALL members of the European Economic Area (EEA) which includes Norway. Control of the UK’s immigration can ONLY be achieved if the UK not only leaves the EU but also the EEA. To expect the members of the EEA to make an exception for the UK is at best foolish, at worst fraudulent.
Now, Mr Cameron would have the British People believe that he can negotiate a deal with the EU to regain control of this country’s borders. By offering this Mr Cameron demonstrates he is one of two things: A fool or a fraudster. Note, that he is either one or the other, not both. This is because he either genuinely believes the EU and the members of the EEA will make an exception for the UK – in which case he is a fool; or he knows that such is impossible in which case he is a fraudster.
Now let us address the issue of WHY the EU and the members of the EEA will not give Cameron what he wants.
One need only look at the image of the dangerously overcrowded boat in the Mediterranean full of those fleeing poverty in Africa to see why. The plain simple fact of the matter is this: the country WORST affected by the crisis of mass migration is Italy. Italy is struggling to cope with the vast numbers – numbers that will only increase. Italy disposes of the migrants who avoid drowning in the Mediterranean throughout Europe. Many tend to congregate in Northern France hopeful of entry into the UK. Then of course there are the vast numbers of poor Europeans in the EU member states of Eastern Europe – including the Roma who have faced discrimination for centuries. These folk desire a better life. As the Eurozone enters yet another recession – this time dragging Germany into recession – many of these poor people will seek to emigrate to the UK – which is their statutory right. No European politician is going to give way on this to help Mr Cameron fight off Mr Farage.
Mr Cameron either knows this or he does not.
Either way, it is unacceptable to have a fool or a fraudster as Prime Minister. This of course also applies to the Unfortunate Ed Miliband – a man who appears to lack even Mr Cameron’s limited capacities! As for Nick “Calamity” Clegg, this poor unfortunate soul is now utterly irrelevant.
