The recent theft of a black Audi A5 in East London would not have made national headlines but for the fact that the toddler Maria Tudorica (above) was in the car at the time and was driven away from her despairing father. Then came the report – shortly afterwards – that the stolen car had been found abandoned but the child was no longer in the vehicle. The Metropolitan Police then immediately threw all the resources they could muster to launch a search for the toddler. Happily the child has been found unharmed.
