Above left, the actress Ms Claire Julia Hawes (born 10th February 1976) – known professionally as Keeley Hawes – and The Right Honourable Mary Elizabeth (Liz) Truss, PC (born 26th July 1975) the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and leader of the Conservative Party (as of today) and Member for South West Norfolk.
It is of course impolite to talk about a lady’s age. However, Keeley Hawes is 5 months and 17 days younger than Liz Truss. The reason for the above double image is that Ms Hawes is an obvious choice to play the part of Ms Truss in the inevitable TV drama that will follow Ms Truss’s departure from Downing Street!
Given the possibility of a General Election coming about fairly soon the TV producers will be assessing on what period to focus on. This depends of course on whether it is a series, a mini-series or a one off production.
Personally, I think the period should be between the date of the general election of Thursday 7th May 2015 and the Friday following the Thursday of the upcoming general election. This because it takes into proper account the major events (including the death of the Queen) and happenings which have brought the UK to it’s present point. In addition the seven and a half (plus?) years will allow for a proper reflective period for the series will begin with events seven and a half years ago. It will allow for a proper unfolding of events and the characters that entered and left the stage over time.
The period will of course cover the Brexit referendum and the consequences therefrom including the 2017 and the 2019 general elections. It will cover COVID-19 and the war in Ukraine.
Tories may not like the idea – but I would suggest that IF the TV drama is written by other than entirely left wing wokeists the Tories will not come off so badly. This because for all their faults the plain simple fact of the matter is this: the Tories have been more “diverse” than Labour!
That this has annoyed Labour is evidenced by the unfortunate (for her career) remarks of Ms Rupa Asha Huq who conveniently was elected at the 2015 general election as the Labour Member for Ealing Central and Acton.
Of course the drama will (and should) focus (amongst many other events) on the assassination of Jo Cox, the Labour Member for Batley and Spen who again was elected in May 2015 being murdered in June 2016. It should also include the assassination of Sir David Amess Tory Member for Southend West from 1997 until his murder a year ago today.
It is to be noted that both Thomas Mair and Ali Harbi Ali were each sentenced to life imprisonment with a whole life order.
