Nigel,
You sent a round robin email about your wish to debate the issue of an in/out EU referendum with Cameron.
I would remind you of a whimsical quote made by the statesman, Thomas Woodrow Wilson, 28th President of the United States who famously remarked, “Never attempt to murder a man who is committing suicide.”
I would suggest that in this case “the man” is the EU Euro-zone members and the “committing suicide” is of course their handling (or lack of it) of the present crisis.
Let us peruse the options:
Just let us suppose for the sake of argument, Cameron has a Damascene conversion and picks up the phone to you and says; “Nigel, you have convinced me. I’ll give the British People an in/out referendum ASAP.”
Your problems then begin. If Cameron gives you what you are asking for, you will then have to win the referendum. Much as the British Gazette would hope that the British People would vote to restore lawful government in the these islands and remove the country from the unconstitutional bonds of its EU membership, we seriously doubt the chances of success.
This is because you have many forces ranged against you.
Firstly: you have the BBC aka the Brussels Brainwashing Commissariat. You can be quite sure that the BBC will be ever so subtly supporting the “stay in campaign.” Of course, the stay in campaign will be the “re-negotiate campaign” – a chimera as you well know.
Secondly: you will have unfortunate allies. Mr Nick Griffin of the BNP. This is of course how the BBC will ensure that the campaign to restore lawful sovereign government in these islands will fail. The BBC will portray the “re-negotiate campaign” as generally representative of the broad spectrum of British politics. You know well the characters who will feature prominently, Sir John Major, Ken Clarke, Vince Cable, Paddy Ashdown, Alistair Darling, Alan Johnson and others. Who will they feature as representing the “Out campaign?” Mr Griffin, your very good self and Mr Arthur Scargill.
Thirdly: foreign businessmen. The BBC will ensure that there are legions of very senior industrialists from major overseas corporations who will solemnly inform the TV audience of the dreadful effects of the UK leaving the EU in terms of employment and investment prospects.
Fourthly: foreign “experts” – meaning a range of academics, economists, financiers &C. – who again will solemnly inform the TV audience of the dreadful effects of the UK leaving the EU in terms of employment and investment prospects.
As you know, the BBC will seek to portray the “Out campaign” as extremists. This of course is bizarre! In what other countries – outside the EU – would the notion that the country should remain an independent sovereign state lies in the realms of political extremism?
Notwithstanding the apparent anti-EU sentiments expressed in opinion polls, with all of the above ranged against you by a state funded broadcaster, your chances of success are remote. Understand this: If the average voter perceives that the “Out campaign” is the vehicle of political extremists they will not vote for you. That is of course why the traitors who wish to keep this formerly sovereign land as a vassal of the EU will proffer the prospect of “re-negotiation.” These traitors know that most of the British People don’t like the EU – which is why they will hide behind the chimera of re-negotiation.
The EU will of course assist by keeping quiet and will duly offer a suitably garnished fig leaf to the Prime Minister at the end of the “re-negotiation.”
Of course, when this odious traitor returns from the conference, those such as your very good self will not be able to resist the temptation to recall the time when Chamberlain landed at Heston Aerodrome on 30th September 1938, and spoke to the crowds there: “……………This morning I had another talk with the German Chancellor, Herr Hitler, and here is the paper which bears his name upon it as well as mine………………”
I fail to comprehend how any treaty signed in blatant acts of, High Treason, can be considered valid in Law?
:Magna Carta
“…here is a law which is above the King and which even he must not break. This reaffirmation of a supreme law and its expression in a general charter is the great work of Magna Carta; and this alone justifies the respect in which men have held it.”
Winston Churchill
“We should recognise a hierarchy of Acts of Parliament: as it were “ordinary” statutes and “constitutional statutes”. The special status of constitutional statutes follows the special status of constitutional rights. Examples are the Magna Carta, Bill of Rights 1689 … Ordinary statutes may be impliedly repealed. Constitutional statutes may not…”
(Divisional Court ruling in the case of the “Metric Martyrs” 2002, (sections 62 and 63)
Though my education is rudimentary it would seem that the judiciary and politicians have eradicated our British Constitution, and we now live in a dictatorship.
We used to be protected from tyranny from government by our peers, the twelve people selected at random who represent, ‘the ears of the country’, and who would examine, the law, the evidence and the controversy and reach a verdict, not according to law, but according to their conscience.
Yet today, the Judges and barristers negate the very randomness of jury selection, demanded by law, by reselecting those they prefer to sit on the jury. It is a blatant criminal perversion of the law.
Not satisfied with effectively, ‘fixing’ the jury, the judges the decide what evidence they will allow the jury to see, and barring the defence barrister fro producing any evidence that contradicts the law, or put his fellow members of the bar in disrepute.
If judges and politicians can act in perjury of their oaths of office with immunity, by gagging lawful protest and honest debate, they can certainly sell our country out to the EU.
How can UKIP possibly suggest we should have a referendum on whether to commit High treason, or not?
Or have I lost the plot?
Your observations make complete sense especially in the light of the original referendums brainwashing blanket coverage fed to the politically naive.
The Slog website, (A diary of deception and distortion) has an equally interesting article entitled; Britain’s EU Membership: ‘Cameron faces new EU Treaties and a referendum whether he likes it or not’.
I think a period of sitting tight is called for.
Jo.
No Tony, you havn’t lost the plot however, although we are many and they are few, in most cases ‘the many’ do not know the truth. That is the beauty of NOT educating the masses, it denies them the ability to think for themselves, it is the Bread & Circuses’ that sustains them,
I have a book my mother used in her last year of Primary School (she was born 1909) and the words used would be beyond the comprehension of my grandaughter and her generation. Also, most of my parents generation had beautiful handwriting which is another subject no longer taught to the masses. Along with too many other worthwhile subjects that gave the less academic a chance to better themselves with trade skills from which they could make a living and elevate themselves with night schools as my father did.
We now look at the results of turning back the clock to Victorian days when the huddled masses must be kept down and controlled.
