“Vote Farage: Get Corbyn!”

In this imperfect world, some things are certain and others uncertain. Of the former, one can cite examples such as each day the sun will rise in the east and set in the west. Other certainties include the obvious such as water is wet and sea waters tastes salty. Another plainly obvious certainty is that the Tories will proclaim, “Vote Farage: Get Corbyn!” at the next election!
Notwithstanding this predictability and the loathsome interpretation that this again demonstrates the outrageously antidemocratic nature of the “First Past The Post” system that forces voters to vote for the least worst rather than their preferred choice; the FACT is that this statement is more than likely correct.
Which does not stop Negligent Nigel from seeking to turn this argument on it’s head by suggesting the opposite, when he declared, “….if you vote Conservative, you are going to finish up with a Corbyn government….”
These goings on have been commented upon by Dr. North (http://eureferendum.com/blogview.aspx?blogno=87261) who states; “The other thing Farage doesn’t do is loyalty. At the count over Thursday night and the small hours of Friday, Farage and his sidekick Richard Tice made themselves scarce.”
We agree with the above statement. “The Sun” newspaper has written about Mr Greene the brexit Party’s unsuccessful candidate (https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/9234165/who-mike-greene-brexit-party-peterborough-by-elections/). Mr Greene seems to be a splendid chap. Farage’s behaviour – deserting his colleague was disgraceful – and typical of the man.
All of which leads us to speculate upon the time and outcome of the next general election:
Whichever Tory masochist takes the poisoned chalice from Madame Mayhem’s hands, they will be in a virtually impossible situation. This because changing the leader does NOT change the situation. There are still only two ways Brexit can be achieved:
#1: Ratify the Withdrawal Agreement
#2: Do not ratify the Withdrawal Agreement and leave without a deal.
A second referendum does NOT change this! It merely hands the decision making to the voters.
IF a No Deal Brexit takes place on Friday 1st November 2019 we are almost certain to see a general election take place in December. The uncertainty is this:
Will it be a majority Labour government, a minority Labour government or a “Lib-Lab Pact”?
Knowing Comrade Corbyn as we do, it is far more likely that he will plump for a minority government. However, were he able to form a majority government the prospects of us all witnessing a sort of real life 21st Century version of the fictional 1980s scenario portrayed Chris Mullin’s novel “A Very British Coup” later made into a TV drama in 1988.
This because Comrade Corbyn’s plans will be resisted by those at home and abroad.
In “A Very British Coup”, a certain Harry Perkins was Prime Minister and Leader of the Labour Party.
We live in interesting times.
