Towing the Green Party line.

The above image is of a heroically large monster tow truck – American but of course! – whose CO2 output will hopefully give such as Mr Juniper of Friends of the Earth an apoplectic fit!
A friend of the Rev. Philip Foster wrote a letter to him which is reprinted with names removed below:
My daughter‘s year 7 school science text book says that if you covered the Isle of Wight with wind turbines, it would equal the output of a new power station.
I‘ve checked it out as it sounded wildly out, and indeed, it‘s out by a factor of no less than 26. The same text book says Uranium‘s going to run out on about the same timescale as gas and oil, that radiation from Uranium (as opposed to nuclear waste) is very dangerous, and that nuclear power is not renewable as (it implies) there is no alternative nuclear fuel to Uranium.
All most annoying. My daughter said, Dad I know this is all nonsense, but would you mind if I parroted it in the exam because if I don‘t, if I tell them the truth, I‘ll fail. They don‘t want the truth, they want me to parrot back what‘s in the book.
British Gazette comment: For a seven year old, she has a wisdom beyond her years. The figures have been checked and the text book is erroneous: To equal the output of a nuclear power station one would need to cover TWENTY SIX TIMES AS MUCH LAND AS THE ISLE OF WIGHT in wind power, with the turbines as close together as they can be.

  1. Wise seven-year-old, she could have my vote.
However, the teaching of propaganda in schools is prohibited, as the Government discovered to its cost, when Stuart Dimmock, a school governor took it to court over its plans to show the film, ‘An Inconvenient Truth’, in schools. Eleven major scientific errors were discovered and these are supposed to be pointed out to the children shown the film. (I wouldn’t count on that restriction being adhered to)
A land area twenty-six times the Isle of Wight, that puts the entire Wind-farm farce into perspective.
What i can’t understand is why it’s okay for Germany and Holland to embark upon a building of coal-fired power stations program, but not the UK?
They tell me that under new proposed legislation, if we need general electrical, plumbing or other household maintenance carried out, it will not be allowed until our home pass a set CO2 emissions test. In other words insulate to government specifications.
However, that ignores several important factors:
    (a) Under the 35 times ratified British Constitution, our homes are sacrosanct and not subject to any interference by Government.
    (b) Preventing maintenance, or inflicting any fine or punishment prior to conviction of a crime, is specifically banned by the, Bill of Rights., which also states:
“That all grants and promises of fines and forfeitures of particular
persons before conviction are illegal and void;”
So we can only voluntarily pay fines and fixed penalty tickets and ignore the promise or threat of fines completely as they void the offence.
(This is why appeals against them are dealt with by a Quango, not by Courts, because we would insist on trial by Jury, which has the authority to bring criminal charges against the Government.
Some people, mainly politicians claim that our Constitutional Laws no longer apply, however:
The Divisional Appeal Court ruling, in the case of the “Metric Martyrs” 2002, (sections 62 and 63) said this:
“We should recognise a hierarchy of Acts of Parliament: as it were “ordinary” statutes and “constitutional statutes”. The special status of constitutional statutes follows the special status of constitutional rights. Examples are the Magna Carta, Bill of Rights 1689 … Ordinary statutes may be impliedly repealed. Constitutional statutes may not…”)

  2. No wonder our children are so ignorant of the REAL world, but it’s been a policy of ‘treating them like mushrooms’ for so long now I despair that a generation will ever emerge that is taught the truth rather than all these mountains of BS!

  3. “Under the 35 times ratified British Constitution, our homes are sacrosanct and not subject to any interference by Government.”
Tony, do you agree that the real problem is Brussels? We seriously need to get out of Europe and get our sovereignty back….in that way you could rely upon the British Constitution .
I ‘m up for big change, just looking for the best way out!
