Those golden years!

Dear Reader, I reckon that you have already lived through the Golden Years!

Following a recommendation from a friend, GB News has become part of my regular TV viewing habits. I find the channel (which I access by live streaming it via YouTube) a most refreshing alternative to the relentless party political broadcast on behalf of the Green Party that constitutes the newscasts from the Balderdash Broadcasting Collective.

Several of the presenters on GB News suggest that in the end the British Public will all club together and by force of democracy overturn the governing consensus.

I am very sorry to say this but I am of the opinion (hopefully wrong) that the CCCC (climate change consensus coalition) comprising the mainstream media and the political parties that currently have MPs in the Commons will end up ruling the day even after the power cuts and rationing that will come about in the not too distant future.

The public I believe are being conditioned to accept a situation of rolling blackouts of three hours duration. I think the recent COVID restrictions will prove to be an absolutely massive aid in bringing this about.

Let us face it; at the end of the day a nation that relies for a considerable amount of it’s electrical power on intermittent, non guaranteed sources (wind and the sun) has to provide backup using other means – this in the most part gas powered generators. There are two ways of managing this:

The socialist way and the capitalist way. The socialist way (that would get my vote) is rationing. The power cuts and restrictions on when you can switch the lights (and TV) on. The capitalist way is price; meaning that there will be a “green tariff” for those who will accept electricity from “green sources” which means that they experience power cuts when the wind does not blow and the sun does not shine (sufficiently) and a “carbon tariff” where those who wish to avoid the power cuts will pay an enhanced rate when the wind does not blow and the sun does not shine (sufficiently) and they can keep their lights (and TV) on by paying more during those periods.

Smart meters will allow this situation to come about.

The difference between the socialist way and the capitalist way? The socialist way rations all and treats people equally regardless of wealth. The capitalist way allows those who can afford it to avoid the misery and inconvenience of power cuts.

Another example of how the UK will become less equal will be in the area of PPT (personal private transportation) cars. Electric cars will be for the wealthy. The poor will be driven off the roads and onto public transport. The problem with bus services having to be subsidised due to loss making comes about because given a choice most people will always choose their own car over the bus. If they no longer have that choice they will use the bus!

This will benefit the rich! This because the roads will have fewer vehicles on them which will mean fewer traffic jams, less congestion. It will also mean fewer road repairs due to lower usage.

IF you are a rich person (such as our dearly beloved present Prime Minister) the solution is easy! Have more than one electric car. This solves the problem of having to wait for the car to charge up. One can have a fully charged car available at all times! Along with a chauffeur – which if an android will also have to be charged up!

I am fond of old British films of the 1950s. London’s streets look very different in them! I reckon that in 2050 they will look like they did in 1950 – in terms of congestion – the lack of!
