President Biden is 100% correct when he warns us that the risk of nuclear “Armageddon” is highest since Cuban Missile Crisis.
Yesterday, President Biden said that he takes Putin’s threat seriously. To quote:
“We’ve got a guy I know fairly well. He’s not joking when he talks about potential use of tactical nuclear weapons or biological or chemical weapons because his military is you might say significantly under-performing.”
Biden added that he didn’t think there was a way the Kremlin might resort to a tactical nuclear strike on the battlefield — as some analysts have speculated — without inviting global catastrophe.
“I don’t think there’s any such thing as the ability to easily [use] a tactical nuclear weapon and not end up with Armageddon,” he said.
“We are trying to figure out what is Putin’s off ramp? Where does he find a way out? Where does he find himself where he does not only lose face but significant power?” Biden said.
President Biden is right trying to figure out what is Putin’s off ramp is. The BIG problem is this: What if Putin does not have one?
Let us face FACTS:
#1: President Biden’s fully justified fears are based on a particular premise: That the use of nuclear weapons by Russia against Ukraine leads to a nuclear response by the USA against Russia which RISKS escalation to the use of each states strategic nuclear arsenals.
Many readers will have deemed yesterday’s BG post as complete doom-mongering!
Given President Biden’s comments on the same day, we beg to differ!
#2: IF Russia uses nuclear weapons against Ukraine, the actions that turn the Ukraine War into Armageddon will be those of the USA. In other words if President Putin uses nuclear weapons against Ukraine whether or not Armageddon occurs will be down to President Biden. No other leader of any other UN member state will be involved. It will be President Biden’s decision and President Biden’s actions which will determine the outcome! To paraphrase the late and unlamented Saddam Hussein, the will be the mother of all decisions!
What every politician, political activist, political commentator, political journalist, think tank employee or intern and every single person who is either a member of or a supporter of ANY political party in EVERY state that is a member state of the United Nations HAS to realise and accept is this: You, your elected (or otherwise) political representative and/or leader has NO SAY in their fate or yours! That you will LIVE or DIE is solely dependent on the actions of ONE man, Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. the 46th President of the United States of America.
Remember, President Emmanuel Jean-Michel Frédéric Macron of France will NOT be party to the decision.
Remember, Olaf Scholz, Federal Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany will NOT be party to the decision.
Remember, The Right Honourable Mary Elizabeth Truss, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom will NOT be party to the decision.
The ONLY sane and rational response to the use of nuclear weapons by Russia against Ukraine is a DIPLOMATIC one!
The problem with this sane and rational response by Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. is political suicide for the Democratic Party! It would be like Ms Truss seeking an audience with HM the King to request an immediate dissolution of Parliament and a General Election! This is the state of political affairs we have at this moment! Thus:
IF President Putin uses nuclear weapons President Biden has to decide whether he for himself, his family, his “fellow Americans” and also on behalf of most of humanity, commits mass suicide OR he decides on behalf of himself and his fellow Democrats to commit political suicide.
IN other words President Biden has to decide which he puts first: Humanity or his party? Given that Democratic Party members are just as susceptible to gamma radiation as of the Republic Party there would appear to one only ONE logical choice!
Unfortunately that humanity is in the mess it is in demonstrates that human beings do NOT always make logical choices!
OK then we hear you ask Dear Reader, what should the sane response be?
The first thing is that the response must be significant and implementable.
The second thing is that it must NOT have an economic cost.
The BG suggests this: That the USA puts forward a motion at the United Nations Security Council that Russia be removed from the Security Council as a Permanent Member and that India be invited to take Russia’s place. This motion will of course be defeated by the use of Russia using her veto!
It is what follows next that is crucial:
In response, the major economies of the world should announce that they are suspending ALL financial contributions to the UN and ALL UN agencies until the motion is accepted.
This will result in the UN and ALL UN agencies either being largely financed by Russia, China and those UN states it controls OR the UN and ALL UN agencies put into suspension. It is also likely that the Arab Gulf States led by Saudi Arabia fund the UN and it’s agencies.
