Keep calm and turn the other cheek.

In our somewhat satirical article of the 16th, (http://www.british-gazette.co.uk/2016/06/16/oh-dear-yet-another-own-goal-this-from-simon-jenkins-i-fear-german-dominance-thats-why-im-for-remaining-in-the-eu/) we alluded to the possibility that Mr Simon Jenkins had taken to heart Matthew 5 verse 41. This in relation to his scoring of yet another “own goal.”
Following the murder of Mrs “Jo” Cox, MP, the entire Leave campaign is in a highly precarious position. Two commentators on our article concerning Mrs Cox’s murder (http://www.british-gazette.co.uk/2016/06/16/mrs-jo-cox-mp-22nd-june-1974-16th-june-2016/) commented that some in the Remain camp are beginning to exploit the outrage for their side’s advantage. Today’s Guardian demonstrates that this in fact is taking place.

It is reported that campaigning will resume tomorrow.
It is vital that the Leave side do NOT respond to such provocations from the likes of Ms Toynbee.
We would refer all Brexiteers to scripture:
Matthew 5 38. Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: 39. But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. 40. And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also. 41. And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. (KJV)
ANY attempt to rebut Toynbee’s claims will be counter-productive for it will only making things worse. We are very firmly into damage control territory now. The cruel, harsh and unjust FACT is that notwithstanding that NOBODY on the Leave side had anything to do with Mrs Cox’s murder and ALL wholly and utterly condemn it and will have NOTHING to do with any form of violent protest, there is now LINKAGE because of witness statements that Mair shouted “Britain first” or “Put Britain first.”
To seek to make ANY form of linkage between these murderous actions and the Leave campaign is monstrous and completely unjustified. That however is not stopping such.
And complaining about it will only make it worse.
This is truly a case where turning the other cheek is the best policy.

Between Saturday and Thursday the leave campaign will have to tread very carefully. Walking on eggshells must be the tactic.
This is because the lead we had built up by Wednesday evening will begin to slip between now and polling day. This is because of where that lead lay: in the white working class areas of Labour’s heartlands in the north. Areas like Batley and Spen. It is the white working class traditionally Labour voting people in these areas who were all set to abandon their traditional tribal loyalty to Labour and vote for Brexit – for the very obvious reason that these are the people who have seen their wages depressed and employment opportunities reduced by the vast migration of EU citizens to these shores.
These were going to be the people who at late as Wednesday evening were set to give the Leave campaign a victory by a significant margin. This has now been placed in very great jeopardy. It is inevitable that many of these traditional Labour voters who had planned to vote Leave will now do one of two things:
1. Vote Remain out of respect for Mrs Cox.
2. Stay away fro the polling station.
Those in charge of the Leave campaign MUST understand that there is nothing they can do to get these folk who have decided to either vote Remain or stay away to change their mind.
There of course many people who will dispute this. For example:The British Gazette however is of the opinion that in seeking to argue the case as in the above video, we will only make things worse. We think the ONLY thing we can do is to keep quiet and not encourage any more such people to follow either course of action.
In traditional white working class communities, “doing the right thing” and “showing proper respect” is all important. There is in fact a curious similarity between the traditional white working class and the traditional landed gentry class. For these social classes, the way one appears to the world is most important. This is why families in both groups will spend huge sums of celebrations such as weddings and funerals and for the landed gentry, “coming out” parties for their daughters. NB: The Tatler magazine would not exist otherwise. Both groups will spend a far higher proportion of their disposable income on such events than their middle class neighbours. If the reader doubts this, ask any wedding photographer or funeral director.
Our strategy now should be that of OFFSET.
If we keep our heads down, be humble, quiet and respectful and above all manage to avoid provoking the other side, we might still have a very slight chance of winning although any victory will have the thinnest of wafer thin margins. It would have been substantial but that is now all in the past. It is quite literally, to alter a well known phrase, “split blood”. This is because of ONE FACTOR that could work in our favour.
In our article earlier today (released in the minutes after midnight) (http://www.british-gazette.co.uk/2016/06/17/mrs-coxs-assassination-the-fallout-appears-to-be-starting/) we drew our “night owl” readership to the fact that the currency markets and stock markets appear to have concluded that Brexit is now not likely to happen. This has always been our BIG PROBLEM.
This being that any significant shift in the polls towards Brexit and any realistic prospect of same would be immediately followed by consequent falls in Sterling’s value and big falls on bell weather stocks like Lloyds Bank. This of course would be shouted from the rooftops by the Remain side in their doom-mongering. Well this morning the markets were up.
