Oscar Wilde once famously said of the Americans and the British: two peoples divided by a common language. The author’s witticism drew attention to the different phrases that exist in the two nations. One of my favourite “Americanisms” is the phrase: “Its like trying to herd cats….” Referring to a task that is extremely difficult or in man (should that be person?) management trying to lead people who won’t be led. Herewith below is an exceptionally good US TV advert.
