It appears that the members of the Tory party have a clear choice before them. They can vote for Mrs O’Leary who it seems will embark on a tax cutting and public spending spree – presumably going to the country before the downsides of the policy occur in the hope of securing her own 5 year mandate. Alternatively they can vote for Mr Sunak who will attempt to govern the country properly.
For the Tories there is a temptation to opt for Mrs O’Leary’s strategy as although it will damage the country it may result in a better chance to secure a victory at a general election.
That Mrs O;Leary is not up to the job of being prime Minister was demonstrated on the TV last night in the hustings televised by Sky News.
Interestingly, at the end of the show an audience poll was held and a show of hands showed that Mr Sunak had a clear majority of that audience.
