Happy Birthday!

Today is the 71st birthday of HRH The Prince of Wales.
It was also the birthday of Suzie the Cat. Suzie the Cat was our family’s cat now long departed from us. She was a very nice cat. However, the birds and mice in Roundhay, Leeds would strongly disagree with this statement!
Additionally, on the political level, those wishing to stand in the forthcoming general election have to deliver their completed nomination papers to the Electoral Registrar by 4PM – today.
À propos of the election, Doctor North in his blog-post today (http://eureferendum.com/blogview.aspx?blogno=87425), reports that the Daily Torygraph is predicting a Tory majority of 110 seats.
He states:
“Apparently, working-class voters are flocking to the Conservatives, redrawing the electoral map, based on divisions between leave and remain. Thus, the expectation is that the Conservatives will win 380 seats, Labour 194, Lib Dems 19, Scottish National Party 36, Brexit Party 0, Plaid Cymru 2 and Green Party 1.”
Doctor North comments (correctly) upon the Buffoon’s unrealistic prattle about concluding a trade deal quickly. We would respectfully suggest that the chances of the UK concluding a so-called “Canada plus, plus, plus” trade deal by the end of 2020 is precisely zero! Furthermore, we would go on to respectfully suggest that the chances of the UK crashing out of the “implementation period” aka “transition period” aka “Purgatory” by the end of 2020 is also precisely zero!
There is a famous caustically cynical phrase within the English language. It is this:
“You can always tell when a politician is lying. Their lips move!”
Remember this:HRH The Prince of Wales along with your Editor and many BG readers remember Harold Wilson’s radio and TV broadcasts on Sunday 19th November 1967.
It is commonly claimed by the Tories that Harold Wilson lied. He did not. He was being economical with the actualité.
So, could the UK leave the “implementation period” aka “transition period” aka “Purgatory” by the end of 2020?
Yes.
How?
By doing the following:
#1: Rejoin EFTA.
#2: Join the EEA as an EFTA member.
#3: Conclude A Customs Union Agreement covering Goods and Services with the EU.
NB: This does NOT mean remain in the EU’s Customs Union as ONLY EU Member States can be part of the EU’s Customs Union.
There is already a well used acronym to describe this. It is well known to nearly all BG readers. It is BRINO. Which for those few humans in the UK who don’t know means “Brexit in Name Only.”
IF the Buffoon were to conclude such an arrangement and succeeded in describing it than anything other than “quasi-autonomous status” coining the acronym “QAS” and GET AWAY WITH IT, the BG will nominate the Buffoon – who after all is a published author – for the 2021 Booker Prize for fiction!
