Rationing of course results in the inevitable black market!
I discussed a completely hypothetical future scenario with a person who lives locally. This person is a vegetarian, not by choice but for medical reasons that occurred in adulthood. I posed the hypothetical scenario that there was red meat rationing imposed and that I had used up my weekly ration. Would this person agree to purchase some red meat (their meat ration being unused) and sell same to me? I would be willing to pay with cash “up front”.
The person replied that they would refuse such a request. “That would not be right.”
