Yesterday, a Westminster Hall debate took place on the subject of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA). The government was represented by the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State Robin Walker for the Department for Exiting the European Union.

On the subject of the EEA [UK membership of same], we quote from Dr North’s blog-post: “………he [Mr Walker] declared that Mrs May “has been clear” that participation in the EEA agreement would not work for the UK because it would not deliver on the British people’s desire to have more direct control over the decisions that affect their daily lives……….”
This statement is important and it goes right to the principal question British Gazette readers have to ask about this Tory government’s actions:
Are they FOOLS of are they FRAUDSTERS?
They are either one OR the other; as being one precludes the possibility of being the other.
This is because even if by some happen-stance the civil service had not advised ministers that the only practical way of Brexiting is via EFTA membership and continuance in the EEA, one can most assuredly assume that the directors of BMW, Honda, Nissan and Volkswagen to name but a few will have communicated such directly or indirectly to ministers or their civil servants!
Thus it is that the government’s policy has stretched credulity of informed persons to breaking point! Therefore one is forced into making the following assumptions:
1. The government do not know or refuse to accept the facts of the situation and are therefore FOOLS.
2. The government know and accept the facts of the situation and are planning at some point to volt face or reverse course or end up not only in the EU but the Eurozone also, presumably to put the kibosh on Comrade Corbyn’s plans to make the UK the Venezuela of Europe and are therefore political FRAUDSTERS.
3. The government know and accept the facts of the situation and are planning to privately profit from the chaos of a Hard Brexit and are therefore criminal FRAUDSTERS.
