Germans remember what happened in the Weimar Republic. As a result, post war West Germany made sure that it had a healthy gold reserve. However due to the “Cold War” most of West Germany’s gold was stored in the USA.
Now the Germans want it back and it appears the US authorities may have disposed of it to support their gigantic budget deficit. It appears that Bernard Madoff is not the only organise of a ponzi scheme!
