It is of course too much to hope that Amber Rudd could be persuaded to abandon her ridiculous belief that the levels of CO2 somehow presents a danger to humankind.
It is however the opinion of “those in the know” that Amber Rudd will champion the construction of the French designed European Pressurised Reactor (EPR) at Hinckley Point in Somerset.
This organ rarely agrees with the Guardian but Miss Rudd should take note of the following article:

The problem is that the UK is starting on the construction of nuclear power years too late. If the existing débâcles in Finland and France are anything to go by, construction of an EPR at Hinckley Point will be years late and billions over budget.
The answer is clear: Construct the Westinghouse AP1000.
The process of approval is under-way: http://news.onr.org.uk/2015/03/revised-resolution-plans-for-westinghouse-ap1000-design-published/
This needs to be expedited.
