The UK state currently levies a poll tax to finance the State Propaganda Commissariat (SPC) AKA the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) which is currently £174.50 per year. That works out to approximately 48 pence a day.
I happen to think that this article (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c0k3700zljjo) entitled “The people who think AI might become conscious.” by Pallab Ghosh the above mentioned organisation’s science correspondent is worth the daily tax.
