The UK IS working: From home!

Above, a Tory reworking of their famous poster that had such an impact on Labour’s fortunes in 1979.

That 1979 poster is now iconic – which is why the Tories are using a re-worked version!

The sad FACT however is that much of the UK’s civil service has, post COVID-19 is not working – well not working as well before the pandemic.

The reason?

There is more than one – but a prominent one is the wish of many civil servants to work from home!

Civil servants should be required to return to work in offices – where appropriate.

My income tax return was filed in early April! It is early May! It would be nice to receive a calculation of my tax!

Here is an actual example of civil service inefficiency (from my section of the HMRC website):

Your Income Tax has not been calculated yet for 6 April 2024 to 5 April 2025

There is no need for you to contact HMRC about this.

Income Tax for 6 April 2024 to 5 April 2025 will be calculated over the coming months, usually between June and October. Your Income Tax will be updated when that happens.

You will only receive a letter by post if you paid too much or too little tax. It will explain how to get your refund or pay any tax you owe.
