The Triple Alliance of 7th November 2019 NOT 20th May 1882.

The Triple Alliance was an agreement between Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy. It was formed on 20th May 1882 and renewed periodically until it expired in 1915 during World War I. Germany and Austria-Hungary had been closely allied since 1879. Italy was looking for support against France shortly after it lost North African ambitions to the French. Each member promised mutual support in the event of an attack by any other great power. The treaty provided that Germany and Austria-Hungary were to assist Italy if it was attacked by France without provocation. In turn, Italy would assist Germany if attacked by France. In the event of a war between Austria-Hungary and Russia, Italy promised to remain neutral. The existence and membership of the treaty were well known, but its exact provisions were kept secret until 1919.
There is today a new triple alliance! This is not one between Emperor Franz Joseph I, Kaiser Wilhelm II and King Vittorio Emanuele III but one between Sidekick Swinson, Ludicrous Lucas and Adam Priceless.

Insofar as the St. Ives & The Isles of Scilly are concerned, at the 2017 election, the Tory, Derek Thomas polled 22,120 votes won the seat with the former MP Andrew George of the Lib-Dems polling 21,808 votes coming a very close second. Labour’s Christopher Drew came a distant third with 7,298 votes. Tory Majority: 312.
It was a three horse race with the Greens, Mebyon Kernow (a Europhile centre-left Cornish nationalist party) and UKIP not standing. UKIP’s Graham Calderwood who stood in the 2015 election polled 5,720 votes which meant that the decision of the UKIP constituency committee NOT to field a candidate secured Derek Thomas the seat. This organ can report that it is the decision of the UKIP committee to NOT field a candidate in this election.
“The Cornishman” newspaper has published the candiadtes in all six Cornish seats. Thus it appears the Greens are standing as well as the Brexit Party. However, candidates might not submit their papers. Thus, if the Greens and Mebyon Kernow decide not to stand, it could well be a three horse race again unless this man decides otherwise:
