Tuesday 5th November 2024 (Bonfire Night) will also be the day of the 60th quadrennial United States presidential election.
For the UK, this will be the most important US presidential election since 1940 and 39th United States quadrennial presidential election held on Tuesday, November 5, 1940. The result shaped the future of our world. The incumbent Democratic President Franklin D. Roosevelt defeated Republican businessman Wendell Willkie to be re-elected for an unprecedented third term in office. Until 1988, this was the last time in which the incumbent’s party won three consecutive presidential elections.
With war waging in Europe this election was always going to be of great importance. However following the change of government in the UK – BUT: Following the death of Bebe King, six, Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, and Alice da Silva Aguiar, nine, killed when a knifeman entered a Taylor Swift-themed holiday club on Hart Street Southport on 29 July, and ten others were seriously injured, the situation has changed fundamentally.
This entirely because of the authoritarian response to the riots that followed by Kneeler Starmer and Mrs Balls.
It appears that Kneeler’s government will continue to follow this course and will amend the controversial Online Safety Act 2023 (https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2023/50) to make it’s provisions more comprehensive and restrictive.
Kneeler will of course be introducing legislation to criminalise what the Labour Party refer to as “Islamophobia”. With Labour’s enormous majority and the Tories quiescence the Bill will of course become an Act.
The one place where this legislation could be held up is in the House of Lords. However, Kneeler – who is keen to have these repressive statutes on the statute book ASAP – may present a deal to the Lords; don’t be obstructive and in return Kneeler will see to it that reform of the Lords is put on the back burner. The easiest, most time consuming and most expensive way to do this is to set up an independent Royal Commission which will take years and cost millions!
Dr Maya Goodfellow (https://www.ucl.ac.uk/racism-racialisation/dr-maya-goodfellow) has written in the Guardian (https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/article/2024/aug/13/immigration-immigrants-society-rich-labour-public) about migration and her views align with the majority Labour Party opinion.
Of course, the troubles in the UK and the gaoling of individuals convicted for their online activities – much of which would not constitute a criminal offence in the USA due to it’s constitutional provisions on freedom of expression – has brought these goings on to the attention of many US political commentators, journalists and politicians.
The FACT of the matter is this: IF Mrs Harris wins the election, Kneeler will breathe a sigh of relief as Mrs Harris will not interfere or comment in any way on whatever restrictions to civil liberties Kneeler introduces.
HOWEVER: this will NOT be the case IF Mr Trump wins the election! Senator J D Vance of Ohio will be the Vice President of the USA and will likely take an interventionist stance into UK politics.
This of course will be unprecedented and will meet with furious opposition from the left in UK politics.
Words like “cat” and “pigeons” come to mind!
Such a stance will likely motivate Kneeler to seek a relationship with the EU even more quickly.
Brexiteers like to imagine that the EU is annoyed with the UK and will be resistant to any idea of a renegotiation of the terms of the UK’s cessation.
WRONG!
The EU will be pleased to present an easy and quick route back into the European fold – NOT as an EU member but as an EU vassal state – by proposing that the provisions relating to Northern Ireland be extended to cover Great Britain as well!
The UK would also make a treaty to join a joint Foreign Policy and Defence Pact with the EU!
