As the Bullshit Broadcasting Corporation has gone to very great efforts to publicise the 2015 Unscrupulous Nefarious Cods-wallop Celebration Circus (AKA the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP 21 or CMP 11) being held in Le Bourget, Paris it appears only right and proper that the British Gazette should at least give it a passing mention.
As US President Barack Obama arrived “in town” and then left again one could not help comparing him to another famous son of the Great American Republic, one Phineas Taylor!
P. T.” Barnum as he was generally known was of course the famous Circus King, a showman and businessman remembered for promoting celebrated hoaxes and for founding the Barnum & Bailey Circus. Although Barnum was also an author, publisher, philanthropist, and for some time a politician, he said of himself, “I am a showman by profession…and all the gilding shall make nothing else of me”, and his personal aim was “to put money in his own coffers”. Barnum is widely, but erroneously, credited with coining the phrase “There’s a sucker born every minute”.
Barnum knew the value of the Great Spectacle. He knew how to capture the imagination of the masses. He also knew how to fool them. These are abilities Barack Hussein Obama II has demonstrated he too has in abundance. To become President of the United States of America you need stamina but above all, to be a showman (should that be show-person? – Ed).
Of course a good showman not only needs an audience, he needs fans! Enthusiastic supporters and sycophants (such as the BBC) who hang on his every word and sing his praises to the rooftops.
The reason why we are concentrating on this one statesman rather than the complete waste of hot air being generated at Le Bourget, is that the reports that President Obama has stated that parts of the global warming deal should be legally binding on the countries that sign it is all we need to know in order to know what the outcome of this circus will be.
You see, in order to make whatever nonsense is concocted at Le Bourget legally binding it has to be in the form of a treaty. This for the USA requires it to be ratified by the United States Senate by a two thirds majority.
The present makeup of the US Senate being the 114th Congress (2015-2017) is as follows:
Majority Party: Republican (54 seats)
Minority Party: Democrat (44 seats)
Other Parties: 2 Independents (both caucus with the Democrats)
Total Seats: 100
Therefore that Great Showman, Barack Obama knows full well that whatever he signs up to im Le Bourget has no chance of being ratified. And that, Dear Reader is the whole point!
You see, President Obama is coming to the end of his second term as President and therefore has to hand over to another. Should the Republicans win the Presidency the Democrats can then take the moral high ground and criticise the Republicans for kicking the deal out!
If the US Senate does not ratify it the Chinese won’t and if the Chinese won’t the Indians won’t.
The question we have to ask ourselves is this: Will our idiot politicians ratify it?
WE HOPE NOT!
Presumably Comrade Corbyn will demand this from Mr Chameleon – if he is still around that is!
Naturally, Farron the Fool will demand ratification – cheered on by his seven equally delusional acolytes.
What we can be sure of is that the Bullshit Broadcasting Corporation will be announcing the End of the World if the deal is not ratified!
Unfortunately, you Dear Reader will shortly be subjected to the Great Woe Monger, the Mother of Gaia, Emma Thompson (AKA She who Must be Listened to!) railing against the politicians should they not ratify.
