Today at the Eleventh Hour the nation fell silent. Always a poignant tribute to those who gave their tomorrows for our todays, this old tradition has been revived – due to efforts of the Royal British Legion, the decline in church attendance of the indigenous population and also because so many of the nation’s citizens belong to faiths other than Christian. This year is of particular note as it is the eleventh day of the eleventh month year of the eleventh year of the new millennia.
