The excellent Christopher Booker in today’s Sunday Telegraph laments the idiocy of Messrs David “Disaster” Cameron and Amber “Ridiculous” Rudd.

Of course, with no national direction the piecemeal patchwork of in-house industrial electricity may prove insufficient this winter and if not this winter the winter of 2017. Either way it is unlikely that the country will not suffer a significant power cut before the date of the next election, Thursday 7th May 2020.
The effects of insufficient electrical generating capacity will have a very severe effect on the UK economy. This of course will mean a consequential effect on whoever is unfortunate enough to be in government at the time.
This is why commentators are mistaken in their belief that Europe will prove to be Cameron’s great undoing. Of course when the wheels come off the “Glow Bull Warnist” wagon the knives will be out and being sharpened.
You can Dear Reader be absolutely be sure of one thing: the politicians will be looking for people to blame.
For all the “climatologists” and environmental consultants presently earning a good living and being shaken warmly by the hand by the politicians we would advise them too remember Fred “the Shred” Goodwin and the Bankers!
Once the toast of the town, poor old Fred, now plain Mr Goodwin cuts a sorry figure today.
