Today’s blog-post uses an acronym that stands for “Biologically Female Humans”.
A man I never knew or met, my grandfather John Henry Rogers was a magistrate. To a solicitor using the phrase “biologically female human” to describe either a woman in the dock or in the witness box, he would doubtless have asked the question (to the solicitor), “What other type of woman is there?”
Well, the answer to this question is likely to receive a final (for the English, Scottish and Northern Irish legal systems) answer that is going to be delivered by the European Court of Human Rights!
British Gazette comment #1: I am not a betting man, but I’d be prepared to put a wager on the ECHR reversing the recent Supreme Court’s verdict!
Now two politicians in particular will be awaiting this development with bated breath! One is “Kneeler” Starmer!
You see, “Kneeler” with have to reverse his reversal of what he believes a woman is capable of possessing! Prior to the Supreme Court’s judgment, “Kneeler” thought that a woman could possess the male appendage. “Kneeler” currently thinks that a woman can NOT possess the male appendage. When the ECHR pronounces that a woman could possess the male appendage, “Kneeler” will revert back to his original opinion in line with the ECHR’s ruling!
The other politician of course is “Famous” Farage!
“Famous” will be absolutely ecstatic! He will give course give a masterclass in acting skill that would put the brilliant Alec Guinness to shame! This because “Famous” will give the most convincing performance of an outraged man ever, the like of which has never been seen on the West End stage!
“Famous” will demand that the UK revoke the European Convention on Human Rights!
This is of course something that “Kneeler” will NOT do!
The UK’s centre right leaning tabloids will of course perform the typescript version of foaming at the mouth!

British Gazette comment #2: The United Kingdom of Great Britain & Northern Ireland CAN NOT revoke the commitment to the European Convention on Human Rights as that would breach the “Good Friday” agreement! However, it can LIMIT the scope of the European Convention on Human Rights to Northern Ireland by SUSPENDING (not revoking) the ECHR’s jurisdiction over Great Britain.
This can be enacted by an Act of Parliament. Furthermore, there is NO legal or constitutional requirement to consult or to obtain the consent of the European Union, the Irish Republic or the Northern Ireland Executive or Assembly.
Were “Kneeler” to do this (HE WILL NOT) the political consequences would be significant. The European Commission would be incandescent with rage! Former President Biden will be similarly furious (because he self identifies as Irish)! The Secretary General of the United Nations will also be furious (because that is part of his duties in-so-far as the UK is concerned)!
Now of course, “Famous” would delight in the fury of the aforementioned!
However, “Kneeler” would quail and grovel before the aforementioned!
