Most of us have a routine. Mine is to have my breakfast and at the same time look at a number of YouTube videos before doing other research, producing a blog-post, having lunch and going out for a long walk. During this time (which can take a while) I dip in and out of GB News. At one point I was viewing GB News content when the presenters, Beverley Turner (above) and Andrew Pierce reported that His Majesty’s Revenue & Customs had decided to close it’s telephone helpline from April to September! Both presenters delivered the appropriate degree of excoriation upon HMRC!
Happily about an hour ago (at the time of posting) HMRC had decided to reverse it’s decision to close this very important public service.
The BBC decided to do something useful today by reporting this: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-68616330
This is simply not good enough! Many people find that drawing up their accounts is not that difficult. The difficulty can often lie not in producing a spreadsheet with the data; it lies in transferring that data from the spreadsheet onto the complicated online form provided by HMRC!
