Since then the long and tortured outcome has cast a pall over the lives of many. Now following the outcome of the latest investigations there is the possible prospect of criminal prosecutions of former police officers for manslaughter and perverting the course of justice. If convicted these now old men will face substantial custodial sentences. As former police officers these will be marked men. With the current parlous state of security and overstretched resources in the prison estate, their safety will be at severe risk.
Now it seems, Hillsborough’s effects are going to affect the outcome of the Stoke Central by-election.

Up to the moment of the claims regarding Hillsborough and Mr Nuttall coming to the fore, UKIP’s new leader seemed set to become the new MP for Stoke Central. This would have been a tremendous upset for the Labour and Tory parties at Westminster.
It MIGHT still happen. However the long shadow that is Hillsborough threatens this. The Labour Party’s rather unpleasant candidate may well now win. Certainly, that is the considered opinion of the numerous bookies taking bets on this.
Curiously, IF Mr Nuttall were to win, and as the hours tick by it looks less likely, UKIP could thank the Liberal Democrats and their candidate Dr Zulfiqar Ali, a consultant cardiologist. This is because some voters upset by the Hillsborough controversy and angered by the attitude and statements by Mr Snell will take the attitude of “a plague on both your houses” and vote Lib-Dem. Certainly many Muslim voters in Stoke may well vote for “their” man notwithstanding the threats of Hell and Damnation that have been directed at them from certain quarters.
Whilst the outcome of the by election is still uncertain, what is certain is the outcome for UKIP and it’s leader should the unpleasant Mr Snell become the Stoke’s next MP: Mr Nuttall’s resignation and yet another leadership election!
And who may put themselves forward?

At the UKIP Bolton conference, Paul Nuttall made it clear that he took responsibility for not checking what had been put on his website and apologised, But he did not apologise for the co-ordinated, cruel and almost evil smear campaign that has been directed towards him. It is based on lies from sources who have not been named. Last week was a tough week for Paul. But he will not allow them to break him and Paul will not allow them to break UKIP.
We all know why this has happened, and we all know why this has happened now. It is because of a by-election and the fact that we have the Labour Party on the run!
