L’Régiment d’Resteraire de l’Europe (the European Regiment of Remainers) [Motto: “Un pour l’Europe, l’Europe pour tous!”] are fighting “une action d’arrière-garde” (a rearguard action) in their attempt to halt Brexit.
One of their number, Jolyon Maugham OC, warns that “there are now risks of an unlawful Brexit…..”
Hmm….
In his blog post (http://peterjnorth.blogspot.com/2019/10/a-nation-lost.html) submitted in the “wee small hours” this morning, “North the Younger” is pessimistic about the UK’s future. With very good reason! The logic of the arguments he puts forward in his blog-post is powerful.
However: It must be realised that the EU is determined to avoid a “No Deal Brexit” as are the Remainer MPs (the majority) in the House of Commons.
Whilst logic would appear to suggest that a No Deal Brexit will take place at one hour before midnight (GMT) on Thursday 31st October 2019 (Halloween) here at the BG we are firmly of the opinion that the midnight hour will pass with the UK still a member state of the European Union.
