Above, Marsh Farm, the new “country retreat” of a certain Mr Mountbatten-Windsor (the operative word being “retreat”).
Vanity Fair (https://www.vanityfair.com/style/story/andrew-mountbatten-windsor-marsh-farm-home) is not a “go-to” source for the BG. However, it serves as such for today’s blog-post!
Today, Saturday 31st January 2026 is the deadline set by HMRC for the payment of tax for UK taxpayers. IF perchance, you have NOT paid your tax by today, TIME HAS RUN OUT!
Time also appears to be running out for the Deeply Unfortunate Mr Mountbatten-Windsor! The most recent release of documents referred to as part of the “Epstein Files” contains allegations of the most serious nature, the details or which will NOT be made mention of.
It is earnestly to be hoped for the sake of the Royal Family that the not so little local difficulty that is Mr Mountbatten-Windsor will eventually be resolved without more than minor damage to the monarchy.
It has, since the date of the first blog-post on Trafalgar Day, Wednesday 21st October 2009 been the policy of the BG to be an enthusiastic advocate for the continuance of the monarchy, not only for the UK but also for the other Commonwealth realms.
The argument for the monarchy can be contained within two words: Donald Trump. Or another two words: Tony Blair.
The United Kingdom of Great Britain & Northern Ireland and the Commonwealth realms have the HUGE advantage of having a head of government (Prime Minister) and a head of state (HM King Charles III [represented by his Governor-General in the case of the Commonwealth realms]).
Long may this most satisfactory state of affairs continue!
God save the King.
