As a professional photographer, I always took the attitude that it was an absolute priority to ensure that any portrait or other shot (photograph) of a woman was not unflattering of her. This did NOT always (in a journalistic situation) extend to men. This of course immediately condemns me to the antediluvian ranks of what used to be called “male chauvinism”, an epithet which grew in severity to “sexism” and which has now grown further into “misogyny”!
Given this blog’s political orientation readers will be expecting me to add my excoriating two-pennyworth but I am not going to. Instead I will simply make mention of John 8:7. If you do not know what this relates to, Google it!
The FACTS of the matter are these, notwithstanding the outrageous treatment of such as Mrs Connolly and the blatant “two tier” criminal justice system we are suffering under, most Britons are still far better off than our fellow Westerners in the USA
True, our US friends DO NOT run the risk of having members of the local Police Department arresting them for a comment made on “social media” that upset a neighbour. However, most are one illness away from personal bankruptcy – only the very wealthy being excepted from this.
Of course, Mrs Rayner’s resignation comes on the day when Reform UK Limited (https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/11694875) was holding it’s annual conference – which saw many journalists leave to travel to Westminster to report on what they consider a more newsworthy story!
Of course, the head of this private limited company registered in England & Wales – Mr Farage – recently received much publicity testifying before a Congressional Committee investigating the decline in the freedom of expression previously enjoyed by the people of the UK.
However, IF Mr Farage is expecting much from President Trump he is going to be bitterly disappointed! After all, President Trump is a man who admires such international luminaries as President Putin, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party and last and least, Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea!
Compared to these three, The Right Honourable Sir Keir Starmer, PC, KCB, KC, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and the Member for Holborn and St Pancras and of course The Right Honourable Mrs Rayner are saints!
