Left, is the Rt. Hon. Mr. James Arbuthnot, Tory Member for North East Hampshire. The Europhile MP was Minister of State for Defence Procurement between 1995 and 1997. This means he had responsibility not only for buying new kit but selling old kit as well. To the question in today’s article, the answer most British Gazette readers would give would be an emphatic No. This is of course because Arbuthnot has taken a solemn oath as a Privy Councillor to see to it “…..that no Foreign Prince, Potentate or Power shall have precedence in this land…..” and at the same time supports the unlawful and unconstitutional handover of the government of this country to a foreign power. British Gazette readers will of course know the cut of this man’s jib.
Unfortunately, our Canadian kith and kin did not know the cut of Arbuthnot’s jib back in 1996 when they agreed to purchase four submarines that had been laid up in a poor state of repair from Mr Arbuthnot.
Below are two parts of a Canadian TV documentary about the scandalous way the Canadians have been treated. This especially since they came forward so willingly and in such large numbers to this country’s aid in the two world wars of the 20th Century. The British Gazette’s message to Arbuthnot? No we can’t any longer. Blair made sure of that, by changing the ultimate punishment for treason from hanging to life imprisonment. Was it in anticipation of him one day being held to account for his own acts of treason?

On your point about Blair facing the long drop, I reckon the traitor would make sure he is in France before charges of treason are laid. We know he speaks French after all and there are plenty of RC churches in France. I believe a (seedy?) boarding house in Boulogne is the traditional refuge for those fleeing in disgrace to escape justice.
So far as the sale of those submarines is concerned, I think the BG has done a good job here by bring to the attention of a British audience a scandal that has gone largely unreported. It is obvious is it not that what the Tory government of the day should have done was to be open and straightforward and state that the boats are poorly found and that if the Royal Canadian Navy wished to purchase them they can but strictly on the basis of “sold as seen” and at no more that scrap metal value. On that basis if the Canadians really did want to “take a punt” on the four boats then there is no way this country could have been accused of sharp practise. But then as the BG says – what do you expect from the traitors who govern us?
