Does the King live?

Above, Mrs Trump in the chair.

Yesterday, a most notable event took place on the World’s stage – at the United Nations in New York. The First Lady of the USA, Mrs Melania Trump was in the chair representing the USA – that holds the presidency of the Security Council for the month of March.

Herewith the BBC’s report (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cg5ng0l35q7o), herewith from the UN’s website (https://news.un.org/en/story/2026/03/1167067) and for those of you who wish to watch the meeting in full, the Associated Press YouTube video (https://www.youtube.com/live/GZTJyF_3eFk [2 hours]).

Many may think that this is a publicity stunt on the part of the Trump administration. Were Mr Trump to use the phrase coined by the late Jimmy Young, “in the rudest of rude health” then indeed, we could write this off as a one off publicity stunt; placing a famously attractive woman in the position frequented by statesmen and states women along with senior diplomats.

From a look through the comments on the YouTube video we see many being highly dismissive and critical of 1. the decision to place Mrs Trump there and 2. Mrs Trump herself – her critics often mentioning her accented English.

I myself am of the opinion that in a world where major corporations and established mainstream media giants (e.g. the BBC) noticeably put “diverse” persons in front of the camera it ill behoves the many critics of the Trump administration to draw attention to Mrs Trump’s accented English.

There is however a far more important and significant aspect to this however:

It cannot have escaped the notice of all who have at least two functioning brain cells that Mr Trump in his second term is NOT the man he was during his first term! That Mr Trump is cognitively impaired.

Further, it is also generally accepted that Mr Trump is ruling like an autocrat. Not just in his bypassing the US Congress but in the manner of his selection of the members of his cabinet.

Generally speaking, in such cases one of the most important criteria – for a subordinate – to possess is trustworthiness – will the subordinate uncritically do what the autocrat wants. Another most important criteria – for a subordinate – is that they must NOT be able to challenge the autocrat. In other words, they are unable to depose them and appoint themselves in the autocrat’s place. We see this in autocratic states such as North Korea and Russia. We see it now in the United States of America!

I would not be surprised at all if this is not the last time we see Mrs Trump take a prominent role in the US administration.

You see, Mrs Trump, unlike Vice President Vance, cannot challenge and depose Mr Trump. Were Vice President Vance to take over more important and prominent roles this would weaken Mr Trump’s hold on power.

In addition, Mr and Mrs Trump – like ALL other married couples – have a shared history together commencing from when they first met to the present.
