……by their fruits ye shall know them!

I realise this is “old news” to many, but I only found out about this today!

I’ll admit, I am saddened but NOT surprised to learn that the Bullshit Broadcasting Collective have produced what it would appear to be an otherwise excellent historial drama but have then gone and made it unwatchable to those whom our esteemed Minister for Women and Equalities, The Rt. Hon. Bridget Phillipson, the Member for Houghton and Sunderland South as “knuckle dragging far right racist thugs”!

This drama is entitled “King and Conqueror” and is an account of the Battle of Hastings and the events preceding and following it.

Herewith the “opinion” of Google’s AI: King & Conqueror is the new, controversial BBC One historical drama starring James Norton and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau that dramatizes the events leading up to the Norman Conquest of England. The series has been criticized [US spelling] by viewers for historical inaccuracies and modern language, with some calling it an “expensive flop” and “nonsense”. The show depicts the rivalry between Harold Godwinson and William the Conqueror, though the nature of their relationship and the historical timeline have been questioned by critics and historians.

Readers will of course recognise the origin of today’s title. I think the full text of the relevant section of Matthew 7:16-20 is worth reading:

16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. (King James Version)

British Gazette comment: I was going to say a few years back; but I correct myself to say a few months back this drama would have been met with a certain level of criticism. However, now given the events since the arrival of the regime of “Stasi Starmer”, the Southport murders and the migrant protests the Overton Window has shifted rapidly to such an extent that many Britons will now regard the latest Bullshit Broadcasting Collective’s recasting of English history with anger and contempt, but borne of a forlorn expectation that that was always what was going to be!

In point of FACT, it is a somewhat a good thing as it will only serve to reinforce and underline that FACT that the BBC cannot be trusted to report upon anything and that it’s flagship News broadcasting is as coloured as that of President Putin’s – in a different way of course!
