A Swift End!

At the end of life, be it actual or political, what most of us desire is a swift and painless exit from this world into the next, preferably with no notice!

The way events “over the pond” are shaping out leads me to conclude that the Exceptionally Unfortunate Starmer may in the not too distant future be offered the opportunity to “exit stage left” after a fellow Labour Member seeks to replace him as His Majesty’s Prime Minister! Normally, such a challenge – so early into a Parliament – would be met by stiff and vociferous resistance by the embattled incumbent, but by the summer of 2025 on the anniversary of his coming to office, the Exceptionally Unfortunate Starmer may be only too willing to hand the poison chalice to a successor!

A Labour Leadership election might take place to allow another Labour politicians to celebrate (I use the word advisedly) before the anniversary of the July 4 election result, for the local elections as the 2025 local elections will be held on Thursday 1 May 2025. All seats on all 21 county councils in England and ten unitary authorities in England will be up for election.

Normally, only a catastrophic election defeat in these England wide elections will presage a leadership challenge however, we are living in strange times and the Disproportional Election System – aka “First Past the Post” [UK] – “Two Party System” [US] – may save Labour councillors from a rout.

Why?

Because the anti Labour vote from the right will be split between Nigel Farage’s Reform UK and the Tories (possibly led by a certain “Ms Badenough”). This being the case, why should Sir Keir thrown in the towel?

Well to quote one of his predecessors; “Events, Dear Boy, Events!”

IF things continue to decline at their present rate, I expect the Liberal Democrats, Reform UK and the Tories to do very well – at Labour’s expense!

All this is dependent on “events” – outside factors – and the biggest of these will take place on “Bonfire Night” – the day the people of the USA elect their President!

IF Mr Trump wins, Labour’s chances of “good times” will have gone up in flames!

This is why Sir Keir has thrown ALL caution to the wind and has sent 100 Labour activists across the pond to assist Mrs Harris’s campaign! This action is beyond stupid! Especially as the character of Mr Trump is well known! I can only conclude that Sir Keir has come to the [correct] conclusion that the should Mr Trump reassume office on January 20 2025, that a fitting sign to place on the cabinet room’s door at Number Ten would be from Dante’s “Inferno” – “Abandon All Hope Ye who enter here!”

The FACT that our mainstream media headed by the Balderdash Broadcasting Commissariat is controlled and suppresses news is demonstrated that the news that Labour activists were on their way to help Mrs Harris was not widely reported and it was left to such as the Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce (https://www.agcc.co.uk/) for this report: https://www.agcc.co.uk/news-article/labour-to-send-party-staff-to-help-democrats-in-swing-states

Instead the BBC chooses to report upon the actions of Miss Taylor Swift (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cy4d3y0kl4eo)!

You see, the consequences (for Labour and the UK) should Trump win are dire! Furthermore, the arrival of 100 “foreign” [to US folks] activists arriving to assist the Harris campaign would normally be considered the “kiss of death” – for Mrs Harris!

I can only conclude that the Exceptionally Unfortunate Starmer has concluded that he and his [Tory] predecessor PM’s have invested so much diplomatic, economic, military and political capital in Ukraine that he has thrown caution (and common sense) to the wind and has “bet the farm” on a Harris victory!

In previous posts I said that this US Presidential election will be important for the UK. I did not realise that the idiotic actions of a British Prime Minister would make it all the more so!

Starmer’s actions reminds me of the Forlon Hope tactic found in military history: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forlorn_hope

Mr Blair’s victory in 1997 is remembered by the song, “Things will only get better!”

For the Exceptionally Unfortunate Starmer, it is probable that, “Things will only get worse!”
