Following this speech , Comrade Keir’s predecessor the Fortunate Sunak will have a smile on his face that would make the Cheshire Cat intensely jealous!
That Comrade Keir appears intent on fortifying his power base by conducting a purge and/or re-jigging the internal selection procedures of leaders and candidates within the Labour Party – something that all dictators do by the way – demonstrates the man’s true colours!

Of course Comrade Keir does not rule over a one party state. However, most pollsters will conclude that with the right wing anti-Labour vote split between Reform and the Tories, Labour should be a “shoe in”. This being the case, Comrade Keir maybe planning to go down Salazar’s path – as far as practical. It has to be stated as FACT, that past governments (of both colours) have never tackled the budget deficit seriously – for the simple reason that it would be widely unpopular. There are of course THREE paths. One is to impose severe public spending cuts and not rise taxes. The other is to impose severe tax increases and not cut public spending and the third is a painful combination of the two!
Comrade Keir has however a particular problem and one of his own making: his obsession with Net Zero! You see, Comrade Keir suffers from a psychological malady known by the acronym DCDS (Decarbonisation Derangement Syndrome)! This is a false belief that CO2 at around 400 parts per million is somehow a danger to human life on Earth!
This is a BIG problem as Comrade Miliband is determined to purse a policy of providing the UK’s base load power by a combination of wind turbines, solar panels and batteries!
There is actually a promising solution that appears to be coming down the tracks!

As you can see the technology is American and therefore Great British Energy would have to pay a hefty license fee to adopt this likely COST EFFECTIVE AND PRACTICAL zero carbon solution! Thus Comrade Miliband might reject it because it was not invented on our side of the pond!
