Amidst the collective incompetence that pervades the British political establishment, it is all too easy to become myopic and become wholly focused on UK affairs; something common across the populations of most countries.
Given the despair over the collective coteries of cack-handed crackpots that constitute the two front benches in the Palace of Westminster, it is all too easy for us in Benighted Blighty to forget about the carry on’s on ‘tother side of pond!
Indeed, present day US politics exceeds what would have been an acceptable level of exaggerating “reality” for producers of comedy films like my namesake Peter Rogers famous for the “Carry On” films!
It seems that President Biden is determined to pursue another four years in elected office (https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/3797101-biden-announces-2024-reelection-bid/) as the USA’s head of sate when all common sense should suggests that the poor man is simply not equipped to deal with the demands of that high office!
Then we have the ongoing prospect of Kamala Harris continuing as Vice President (https://www.latimes.com/politics/story/2023-02-05/biden-speculation-dump-harris-from-2024-ticket).

Former President Donald Trump seems to be the odds on favourite for the Republican nomination.
The present unknown is who is going to be President trumps “running mate”.
