In the national interest!

Looking at the US Election, the phrase “dog’s breakfast” comes immediately to mind.
Now of course, many political activists and pundits – including most of the journalists and the hired “talking heads” at the British Board of Control (Opinions & Thought) TFO [Taxpayer Funded Organisation] – are immersing themselves in the partisan issues of the Great American Republic.
Well, the BG will refrain from this. Instead we will think purely in terms of what is in the British National Interest!
Now, BG readers will know that the BG has consistently taken a particular line on the issue of Brexit. But that quite frankly is bedside the point. What matters now is to see that the present government in London is helped and not hindered by others when it comes to negotiating our future relationship with our largest trading partner, the EU.
Now here are the FACTS:
IF Mr Biden becomes the next US President, this will assist and strengthen the negotiating position of the EU and will hinder and weaken the negotiating position of the UK.
IF Mr Trump remains the US President, this will assist and strengthen the negotiating position of the UK and will hinder and weaken the negotiating position of the EU.
Of course, the famously Europhile BBC have been pushing the limits of their supposed impartiality in trying to support Mr Biden’s cause.
Of course, many political activists and pundits on this side of the pond, immersed and steeped as they are in the UK’s politics find very deep divergence on many policy issues with political activists and pundits on the other side of the pond. The politics of the UK and the USA are very, very different! But sensible people on this side of the pond should recognise this as a FACT and concentrate on the British National Interest!
Of course, it is true to say that the BG does not hold with all that the present PM is doing. But you know – that does not matter one little bit! The FACT is that it is Mr Johnson in #10 and NOT your Editor! So to restate for the hard of learning – yes Sir Ed’ Davey – this means you – Mr Biden residing in #1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20500, will HINDER Mr Johnson, whereas having Mr Trump there will HELP!
