In her article in today’s Guardian, Polly Toynbee laments upon the inevitable.

British Gazette comment: Amen.
In his blog post today (http://eureferendum.com/blogview.aspx?blogno=86449), the erudite and learned Dr. North cuts to the chase when he concludes that Madam Mayhem is buying time. Two years in fact and goes on to (correctly) state that two years is going to make little difference to Madam Mayhem’s ultimate fate!
In yesterday’s article (http://www.british-gazette.co.uk/2017/04/19/whato-voters-its-bullshit-time-again/) we suggested Dear Reader that if you live in a Conservative/Labour marginal seat, that voting Labour is what this organ would advise. It went on to suggest that if you live in a Conservative/Liberal Democrat marginal seat (such as St. Ives and the Isles of Scilly), that voting Conservative is what this organ would advise.
WHY?
For your own Peace of Mind Dear Reader! Because, after 2019, you WILL have to live with the consequences of what Madam Mayhem has brought about: But at least you will have the comfort of knowing that you did your bit to try and avoid it!
Although it is likely that YOU, Dear Reader will be morose and miserable at the UK’s ultimate fate – whether is its the fate as bad as death, namely an abandoned Brexit and the status quo ante June 23rd 2016 or the fate worse than death, namely a Brexit followed by rejoining the EU and joining the Eurozone – at least Polly herself will at last be happy! Thus she will be able to smile contentedly and say to herself: “All good things come to she who waits!”
WHAT therefore could possibly go right and place the UK genuinely outside the EU as a properly functioning independent state?
The answer of course is Flexcit (aka the “Norway Option”)! In other words, unless at some point between now and 2019 Madam Mayhem abandons her suicidal course and adopts Flexcit, the country is doomed to continue as a vassal of the EU.
The biggest irony of all of course – and one that must have Chancellor Merkel rolling around in fits of laughter – is that the Unfortunate Nuttall is cheering Madam Mayhem on over the cliff of a “hard Brexit”!
It has been anciently and anonymously said (and wrongly attributed to Euripides) that, “Those whom the gods wish to destroy they first make mad.” Well, they have certainly succeeded beyond all expectations in the Unfortunate Nuttall’s case!
